Odesk got their name from the term “no desk”, they wanted to say that you could work anywhere and anytime. The company collects 10% of what the freelancers inside odesk charge. Odesk also uses a software that should be installed the local machine of the remote employees which is something that had become an issue overtime because of privacy issues. Most reviews for odesk find them overly intrusive when it comes to the workers.
